Not many shops still offer a pension

Every time we talk to MIT Lincoln Laboratory, they bring up their pension. At this point I get why — you don't see one much anymore. They've got five hard-to-fill specialist roles open this week (diamond turning, simultaneous 5-axis), and just added relocation assistance too.

Also caught my eye: Atlas Machine & Supply's 2nd shift schedule — three 12.5-hour days, then six days off every other week. More shops are getting creative with schedule instead of just chasing the pay number, and it's worth noticing when one does.
