by Morning Machinist

🧢 Built By Machinists — Now Live!

We’re pumped to announce that Built By Machinists — our official apparel partner — is now live!

It’s a new online store made for machinists, by machinists, featuring shirts, hats, and other gear inspired by the trade.

Every design celebrates what makes this industry special — from manual mill classics to CNC pride, all designed and printed with quality in mind.

Every once in a while, something pops up in the MACHINIST Facebook group that stops everyone mid-scroll — this was one of those moments.

A machinist shared photos of a prosthetic foot he designed, machined, and built himself.
After months of tinkering, testing, and tweaking, he wrote:

“Foot is complete! I tested it out and it held up to a 405lb squat and 500lb deadlift without any problems. I’d say I have a winner here. Big thank you to everyone who offered their help and advice!”

The post has exploded — 187,000+ people reached in just two days, and hundreds of comments full of congratulations and pure amazement.

Here are a few highlights from the community:
💬 “Fantastic!! Well done. I'm also an amputee and have often thought about doing this sort of work.”
💬 “Looks almost exactly like the Bioadapt foot for lifting. Super impressive he made the structure on his own.”
💬 “Hell yeah! This is what machining is all about! Your new foot is bad ass.”
💬 “This is 100% the most bad ass thing I’m gonna see on FB today — maybe this week.”
💬 “By far the coolest post since I've been on this page!”

It’s one of those rare posts that reminds everyone what makes this trade special — creativity, craftsmanship, and the drive to build what doesn’t exist.
